In Our Neighborhood
City Seminary seeks God's peace in our neighborhood through presence in prayer, the arts, chaplaincy, and partnerships with community groups like the Police Athletic League and Harlem Success Academy.

Walls-Ortiz Gallery and Center
The mission of the Walls-Ortiz Gallery and Center is to cultivate a community space for art and conversation, for telling stories, for visualizing and engaging faith, for new questions and unexpected appreciations, and for matters of the mind and heart. Beginning in Fall 2019, we will be a "gallery on the move" in the neighborhood.

Gotham Arts Festival
Our annual Gotham Arts Festival is a celebration of the arts and community at the Walls-Ortiz Gallery and Center, held each spring in the month of May. The festivities have included a local artisan and crafts pop-up fair, an opening reception and artist panel for the featured exhibition, and arts workshops. We have hosted evening drama performances and dialogue, and arranged discounts for meals with local neighborhood establishment partners.
The festival will be on hiatus from 2019 - 2021. For more information on future festivals, please contact wogc@cityseminaryny.org.
Community Chaplaincy
One of the ways we are present in our neighborhood is through community chaplaincy. Pastor Adrienne Croskey serves as the chaplain for City Seminary of New York students, faculty, and staff, as well as in our local neighborhood. She is a key part of our community outreach, and certified as a chaplain supervisor. Pastor Adrienne trains chaplains through Fresh Oils Ministry, a partner organization in the neighborhood.

Brown Bag Lunch Talks
The Brown Bag Lunch Talks series is a daytime gathering held on Wednesdays from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM during the fall and spring. This is an opportunity for us to interact with local partners like Columbia University Teachers College's Visual Research Center and international scholars in the arts and public faith.
Check the calendar for upcoming gatherings.
